Trip to Paris France 2007
View from park bench just outside our hotel. A small painting but it captured the architecture.

View of Notre Dame
We were there during a transportation strike and could not go to Rome so I got an extra day in Paris
One of my favorate paintings. I walked out of the woods and back to the condo. I sat down and a woman looked at my paintings and wanted to buy this painting. I went back and painted another the nest day to replace it.
Trip to Bermuda 2004
I walked up into St George and found a shady spot tucked away. This chimney caught my eye. The Architecture is very unique to Bermuda and this chimney is typical. I was looking for a good palm tree shadow on the side of a structure. Its hard to find a spot to paint and shade and comfort.
Painted in Hamilton Bermuda. I found this view from a park by a school where all the children were dressed in shirts, ties, and knee socks.

I stayed at the Artist Inn. A view across the street. It was a little cold that day and I had multiple layers on. I painted on the sidewalk. This was a large piece 1/2 sheet.

We had a week vacation at Top Sail North Carolina when my daughter Nicole had her first child. Jack Galway. Dawna would vist and I would stay at the condo and paint. We went on a lot of walks. Lots of good shell here.
I started painting with only an idea of color and that it would be a simple path. It was going to be a path to the beach and laid in a rough background and stopped painting for the night. I sat back and stared at the canvas and it hit me. I could see the painting taking form and then I started to enhance it and before my eyes the image appeared. This is what happens when paintings actually paint them selfs. I put down some strokes and let the painting go where it wants. It is truly fun. It like playing a wee gee board.
